Drawing on extensive research carried out across Europe’s sea basins, the "Waves of SHE: Women Shaping the Blue Economy" workshop will present key findings on gender balance in the Blue Economy, highlighting both the progress achieved and the challenges that persist across maritime industries, research, innovation and leadership.
But this session is not only about statistics. Through stakeholder dialogue and audience interaction, participants will also discover the people and stories behind the data, women driving change across ocean-related sectors and helping shape a more sustainable and inclusive future.
The session will also contribute to the development of the second WIN-BIG policy brief, gathering recommendations on:
- gender data and monitoring
- equity and inclusion measures
- visibility and leadership promotion
- support mechanisms for women in blue careers
More than a workshop, this is an opportunity to connect with researchers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, communicators and Blue Economy professionals from across Europe and contribute directly to the conversation around a fairer and more resilient ocean economy.
